About Us

Hello and welcome! My name is Lindsay, and I am a mother, maker, forager and seasonally-inspired home cook living in the Pacific Northwest forest with my husband, our two children and an array of animals. I enjoy learning about creative and useful skills that utilize natural materials and the resources we have growing right outside our door. As a family we raise backyard chickens for their colorful eggs, Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats for their delicious milk, and fluffy Angora rabbits for spinning and knitting their fiber. We also enjoy walking in the woods, foraging together, hunting for mushrooms, gardening, preserving and, of course, feasting on the harvest.

I started my first blog back in 2008 as a way to document all the new skills and crafts I was learning at the time, as well as to have a place to save and share what I was making, inluding my favorite recipes and resources. Over time, social media sites took over and the casual nature of blogging on the internet changed as people started using blogs more for business. As a result, for many years I found myself no longer publishing on my blog, but rather sharing on social media sites instead, which was fun at first before the algorithm began controlling what we see in our feed.

I’m not sure how possible it is to return back to those good old fashion blogging days, but I miss that style of sharing with its sense of informality and community. So keeping that in mind as inspiration, I am now using this website as a creative outlet for myself, as well as a casual way for me to share and connect with others who are into the same things I’m into. I’ll also use this space here as a way to keep you updated on what we’re doing on the farm, including when we are making and listing our own handcrafted, small-batch products, such as soaps, salves, candles and naturally dyed yarns in our shop.

Please sign up for our newsletter below if you want to be informed right away whenever we have a shop update.
